Really enjoyed Black Beauty!
Just discovered 1001 Greatest love and family stories. Thoroughly enjoyed another classic in Black Beauty that I hadn’t read or heard. Lots of other interesting stories I’m looking forward to listening to soon. Jon keep up the great offerings!

Scarlet pimpernel
This is one of my favorite love/action older movies ( the one done in color) it has the right blend of historical content, romance, action, and yes- true love. I am very much enjoying your reading the actual book ! It definitely holds up to the movie ! Thank you !

Black beauty
Really enjoying the book black beauty. I like the story from the horses point of view. I didn’t realize they forced horses to hold their heads up. Thanks for the good reading Jon.

Love the “1001 short stories”, particularly O. Henry and Bret Harte, and now I am listening to Black Beauty under “1001 love stories” and look forward to each new installment. John’s voice and narration are wonderful!
By the way, the podcast posted on May 21 is the wrong recording, it’s a repetition of chapters 9-12 from the previous week. Please fix!

1001 Greatest love stories
What a wonderful podcast! Jon is such a terrific storyteller, and I especially like his commentary that he occasionally adds to the end of a story. All of his podcasts make for the perfect companion while driving or doing hobbies.

Top Notch Podcast
Here’s two reviews in one. When I was starting to send a review on the current story line I realized that I had failed to hit the send button for a previous story. The current story is Marie which is a great choice. While I’ve heard of some of the other stories about this character I’d not heard of this one. Very entertaining and full of suspense! The second review is for Anne of Green Gables. I’ve read several of the Anne of Green Gables books and seen some of the movies and TV series but I anxiously await this reading coming available on Sunday nights. Perfect narration and expression by Jon. Couldn’t ask for anything better! Thanks so much.

All of the 1001 broadcasts
Excellent choice of stories for these stressful times. Great escape from the daily stress. The reader’s performance is enthusiastic, but woefully lacking in dramatic skill. Phrasing is stilted and awkward. I listen because of the content and try to disregard the quality of the delivery. When the host reads reviews on the air that refer to the five star quality of the reader, I question the authenticity of the reviews being cited. That being said, I look forward to each week’s podcast.

Anne of Green Gables!!
I’m so happy Jon is reading this delightful book on 1001 Love Stories. Such a fun story, and Jon is such a talented reader that I don’t even notice that it’s an adult male voicing an 11-year-old girl! He does a great job on all the voices and I can just feel their personalities oozing through. Thank you Jon and keep up the good work!

Jon makes the best 11 year old red-headed girl ever! As Mrs Hagedorn must know, he’s so romantical ! For the past 3 years, I’ve listened to all the 1001 series stories with unmitigated glee! Thank you, Jon.

Wrong reader for gatsby
I love this book and I’m so happy that it is being offered as a podcast! However, I think that Jon is the wrong reader for this book. He has a perfectly good voice but the narrator of this book, Nick, would have very different intonation and inflection while telling the story. It’s distracting! I would really much prefer to have an actor reading this one.

Awesome podcast!
I thoroughly enjoy the 1001 podcast network. I am a faithful listener to both 1001 short stories and 1001 stories for the Road. I thought I would try this podcast, because John always features of variety of classic authors and excellent content. I was not disappointed. The stories are well read, as always and they leave me wanting to hear more. I can hardly wait for the new episodes to drop. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. It really shows.
