I have listened to this podcast and his others, for years. It is introduced me to the amazing world of Jack, London. Sure, I have read white fang and the call of the wild, but the stories vividly bring to life a bygone era. The tone of voice in the story fits exactly the tenor of the reading. It’s a pleasure to listen, as I’m driving to work, or laying down to go to sleep. More than once I have paused the podcast to go and look up in a dictionary, or Wikipedia, a term that was used in his narration. By the way, if you are a advertiser, thoughtfully, consider purchasing sometime on this podcast. It will be money well spent!

The 1001 podcast series is an outstanding collection and well worth listening too. I used to listen to topical podcasts but realized that while those podcasts have their place they were just adding too much stress in my life. I found the 1001 series and found stories that are exciting and just classic. A much more rewarding experience to listen to these classics tales. The Jack London series is my favorite and it is great that it is continuing. My day typically starts with a three mile walk and listening to 1001 tale, thanks for the great series.

This is an old favorite from childhood but a wonderful listen now. A classic, timeless story, beautifully read and delivered. Thank you for the enjoyment of this classic !!!

What a great podcast, Jack London is somewhat forgotten today, his stories no longer required reading in schools for obvious reasons. Glad this podcast is keeping his legacy alive.

I was a long time Saturday night listener of the Prairie home companion, and it was one of my favorite things in the world, and then sadly the host fell into disgrace during me to end, and all of that, and I was very disillusion, and I was a faithful fan I have to say that I love his stories. I love his voice I love his little radio dramas, but this is so much better and I get the feeling that John Hagedorn is a very solid square guy that would never do anything to a lady to be grouped in into the fallen heroes, who, in their huge Eagles thought they were attractive, too young women. Jon just sounds humble, such a brilliant, wonderful reader, an actor and entertainer in my new Saturday evening favorite thing to listen to anything from 1001 short stories, or Jack, London or Sherlock Holmes and all the others. Thank you.

Jack London stories are always great to listen to and I especially enjoyed the Day’s Lodging story. As the plot evolved, the listener could guess at the central issue but as with most of his stories, the end was a surprise!!! Great reading with perfect pace and inflection.

I’ve read it several times in my life, always loving it. It was truly a treat to have it read to me by a very talented reader. Thank you !
